The dictionary says patterns are formed from 'an arrangement of repeating or corresponding parts'. I exclude fractals from this which although they might fall into the definition are drawn by a mathematical process - see plots.
The miscellaneous galleries here, contain a mixture of patterns produced by several different programs. Now I've got more web space (thanks to Yoyo) later additions can be give whole pages of their own 8-).
