XaoS has been around for some time but is still the fastest fractal zoom generator bar none. It's still images aren't bad either as demonstrated below. It originated in the Czech republic and is released by the Free Software Foundation - see software used in menu tree on left. It contains the most wonderful tutorial graphics complete with it's own examples and zooming animations.
